- 44% of people in New Zealand 15+ watch a movie or TV show daily on on demand.
- 82% of people over 15 in New Zealand watch any form of TV daily.

- Quickflix: Increase price from $9.99 to $12.99 for the first six months, the $6.00 a month. 3 devices can use at once, six can be logged on. Trial benefit is first month free and one new release movie credit. Has hollywood and new zealand local titles.
- Lightbox: $12.99 per 30 days, first 30 days free. 5 devices can be logged on and 2 can be playing at the same time. Focus is on bringing new and best tv to households. Growth has exceeded original expectations.

- Netflix has 125 million subscribers world wide.
- Cinema attendance in the US dropped to its lowest level since 1995 last year.
- Many famous directors believe that Netflix movies should not be able to qualify for academy awards.
- Streaming services such as Netflix are changing the dynamic in film making in the sense that the films that didn't get a cinema release and had the kind of money that those films did, that was a continuation of their cultural value and certainly their economic value.
