CCR Preliminary Task 1
br />
How did my Production Skills Develop through the Project- Pre Production, Production and Post Production?
CCR PT1 Q3
What I learnt:
-Operating a camera
-Using a sound kit
-Using a lighting kit
-Editing on Adobe Premiere Pro
-Editing on Adobe After Effects
-How to create a shadow on a wall.
-Converting audio to mp3
-Uploading a video onto youtube
-Inserting a video from youtube into premiere pro
-Creating end credits
-How to use colour to create atmosphere
-Download documents from google drive to Premiere Pro
What I found Hard:
-Learning how to use premiere pro
-Learning how to use adobe after effects
-Converting music from youtube to Premiere pro
-Finding the right angled shots to add effect.
What I Enjoyed Doing:
-Filming the video
-Looking at what lighting worked and what didn't
-Editing the clips after they were imbedded into premiere pro
-Researching music ideas
-Using conventions like flashbacks in the editing process.
-Researching ideas before we wrote a script and filmed
-Looking for ideal costumes and props that would add effect to the video.
-Making the original brainstorm.
What was my Peer advice after my Rough Edit:
-Turn up the volume of the voices.
-Change the timing of my flashback so you can see the shots more clearly.
-Change the colour and tint of the bathroom scene to make it less orange to add verisimilitude to the colour of the blood.
What I Changed:
-I turned up the volume of the voices and ;lowered the music as they talked so they could be heard.
-Changed the timing of my flashbacks so they coud be seen slightly more clearly.
-Made the tint in the bathroom scene less orange.
What Went Well and Will use Again
-Camera brace for moving shots- its less shaky
-iPhone light creates a really clean white light to make a cold atmosphere.
-Microphone attached to camera is effective to pick up voices.
-Premiere Pro was an effective software to use, and easy to edit with.
-Titles in Adobe After Effects were reasonably simple to create and effective for the video.
-Time keeping was effective to make sure we didn't run late or go overtime.
-Youtube converter was made it easy to get music for the clip.
-Asking the opinions of others on rough drafts helps to see what needs improving.
What to Change for PT 2
-Use the neck brace first time filming to ensure we wont need to go back and re-film shaky shots after we've uploaded the videos.
-Check to see we have all the necessary requirements for the task before filming so we don't need to re-film shots again like we did with the shot-reverse-shot.
-Bring in the lights a day before so we don't test them the day of filming.
-Get all props to school the day before so there's no stress in the morning.
-Confirm actors are available completely at least three days before the filming so we don't need to use our back ups.
Overall Score for CCR - 44/60
ReplyDeleteQuestion 1 - 13/15
Blog Tool (4/5) / Content (9/10)
- a well structured presentation outlining the conventions used and contrasted with the conventions generally used in thrillers.
- a little more detail and visuals will add to your effort next time (mentioning things like setting as a convention / lighting as a convention / camera movements or shots like close-ups as a covention)
Question 2 (12/15)
Blog tool (3/5) / Content (9/10)
- a well thought out and detailed answer
- please try and split up text bodies so the slides are easier to read. Bullet points or shorter paragraphs work well for slide shows.
- great analysis and reflection on the way your film engaged with the audience
Question 3 - 9/15
Blog Tool (2/5) / Content (7/10)
- please check what the finished product of your blog tool looks like in preview. The grey colour background and black font were not a great match and it was tricky to read. Try steer away from blog tools that are basically text boxes the same as a normal blog post would be.
- There was a distinction between Q3 and Q4 and I feel like you answered Q4 here, going into all the hardware/ software and technoligies you learnt. This question, laid out in the brief was asking about the 3 stages of production. What did you learn in pre-production? Did you write a script or draw storyboards? How did you find group work? What went well in your planning stages? Did you do a location scout? What did you learn in that? This is a good question to answer all about what you want to change for next time and how you may improve. Leave all the technological stuff for Q4.
Question 4 - 10/15
Blog Tool Presentation (3/5) / Content (7/10)
- a good list of technologies, hatrdware and software but again, could have included more detail and pictures of the camera, screenshots of you working on Premier Pro, just more visually interesting.
- This Question is also a good place to actually include and list the tutorials you did like the Premier Pro editing introduction tutorial and the After Effects tutorial and actually not just listing everything but critically analysing the learning process.
